DEVILS ISLAND is the debut collaboration by writing duo Midge Raymond and John Yunker. The story begins as an exotic travel tale featuring Brooke and Jane, two former college friends who’d drifted apart, and quickly evolves into a locked room mystery with a lively cast of characters. Brooke and Jane seek to rebuild their friendship on a beautiful and remote island off the coast of Australia as they join a small and luxurious multi-day guided hike. The hikers look forward to a relaxing experience and a close-up view of the local wildlife and a transplanted colony of Tasmanian Devils. Jane and Brooke each work through personal challenges, and it doesn’t take long for Jane to enlist Brooke’s help to quell her anxiety. A fellow hiker is Jane’s former lover, and he’s also uneasy to be in Jane’s company. Soon, a hiker is found dead. The others find themselves battling a growing paranoia: there are more unexplained disappearances and dead bodies, isolation, and the danger of a harsh storm. It’s a story of twists and turns, elusive wildlife, and the people who try to protect them.
