Expect Betrayal by JoAnn Smith Ainsworth
A college friend offers advice on staying safe in war-torn England to the naval commander overseeing the US psychic team and to its team leader (a US WAVES clairvoyant) while they search for her family’s grimoire, The Book of Cures. It contains spells and charms to protect their Philadelphia headquarters from further Nazi occult attacks. But the friend is the very man assigned by the Fatherland to spy on them and to put a bullet between their eyes once he gets his hands on this grimoire that Hitler covets and needs to fight the war.
Award-winning author JoAnn Smith Ainsworth sat down with The Big Thrill to discuss the third book in her Operation Delphi series, EXPECT BETRAYAL:
No spoilers, but what can you tell us about your book that we won’t find in the jacket copy or the PR material?
This paranormal suspense series features ordinary people confronting the extraordinary while going about their everyday lives vs. the characters themselves being viewed by others as immediately extraordinary.
What authors or books have influenced your career as a writer, and why?
I strive for the gripping suspense and simplicity of the writings of Robert B. Parker.
What do you hope readers will take away from this book?
Hope. Even in the darkest hours of WWII, people kept on going against bitter odds with the hope of a better future.
