Can you pinpoint a moment or incident that sparked the idea for this book?

Coming up with the idea that using a mountain range as the backdrop of a cold case and murder mystery would make for a captivating story.

A novel is such a major undertaking; there’s the writing of it, of course, then you’re spending months and months revising, polishing, and then promoting it. How did you know this was the book you wanted to spend the next couple of years on?

As part of a six book series, this book was a great fit, and so went with it, as an extension of the Lynleys of Law Enforcement miniseries.

When you first created your protagonist for this book, did you see an empty space in crime lit that you wanted to fill? What can you share about the inspiration for that character?

My heroine was inspired by every successful female in federal law enforcement, with the skills and determination for solving the case.

In addition to a great read, what do you hope readers will take away from this story?

An appreciation for the wonders of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina.

What can you share about what you’re working on next?

It is entitled, Cold Murder in Kolton Lake (The Lynleys of Law Enforcement Book 4).
