A year ago, Kate and Andrew confronted a home intruder. The worst moment came later, when they discovered who had nearly destroyed their family and why.

Now Andrew has booked a surprise vacation so the family can rest and recover. But Kate is always looking over her shoulder. She knows the person who threatened them is still out there.

And she knows Andrew still doesn’t trust her…

Miranda Smith recently spent some time with The Big Thrill discussing her latest thriller, HIS LOVING WIFE:

What attracts you to this book’s genre?

I love all elements of crime fiction, particularly books that allow you to get inside a character’s mind. I love exploring the motives behind our actions. I try to create scenarios that will make readers question how they would react in similar situations.

Without spoilers, are there any genre conventions you wanted to upend or challenge with this book?

The home invasion at the beginning of this book is the catalyst for the many problems that follow. I wanted to explore how each character deals with their trauma in different ways.

What authors or books have influenced your career as a writer and why?

There are so many writers I admire in this genre for their ability to write complex characters and unique plots. Some of my favorites are Jennifer Hillier, Liz Nugent, Riley Sager, and Lucy Foley.

*****

Miranda Smith writes domestic and psychological suspense. She is drawn to stories about ordinary people in extraordinary situations. She lives in East Tennessee with her husband and children.
