Blue Horizon by J.L. Hammer
Part of a secret government project, Elena Davidson’s life is placed in serious jeopardy when she is kidnapped by terrorists. Safeguarding ‘Blue Horizon’ isn’t just a mission to Elena. She knows that if its purpose is revealed, it could be dangerous for the entire world. As prisoners, Elena and a colleague both endure torture while risking their own personal safety in order to protect ‘Blue Horizon’.
Beckham Connors has a simple mission: the retrieval of Elena Davidson, no matter what the cost. He has orders to rescue Elena from her captors and to send her home to America, or to kill her. Whatever happens, she cannot be left alive on Iranian soil.
Forced into a whirlwind adventure, Elena can depend on no one, but herself. She knows the information she has could be a death sentence, and Elena knows that her presumed savior could also end her life. She wants to believe that she can trust Beckham, but her increasing attraction to him blinds her to the threat. BLUE HORIZON presents the tale of an ordinary woman’s extraordinary attempt to stay alive.
BLUE HORIZON is available through Cogito Media on eBook at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The date for release in hardcover is still pending.

As far back as she can remember, J.L. has always had a constant stream of stories playing through her mind. In 2005 she wrote her first story, a novella. “This was a learning experience. I proved to myself that I had the stamina and drive to finish a story. I’ve been hooked on writing ever since.” The keys hadn’t even cooled before she locked onto her next story. The anniversary of 9/11 came and went, but the memories of that tragic event would influence the shaping of her debut novel, BLUE HORIZON. It is set on a backdrop of terrorism, weapons of mass destruction and foreign cultures. When she placed a strong female protagonist against these elements and then added a hardened mercenary, the sparks began to fly.
A native Californian, J.L. enjoys the relaxed pace of small-town life with her husband and two children. For the past eleven years, she has worked as an educator. When asked how she finds time to write novels while working full-time and raising a family, she says, “If you love to do something, you make time. When I’m not writing, I’m thinking about writing. I devote every extra moment to developing my stories, connecting with readers, and networking with fellow writers.” She adds, “I’m blessed with a supportive husband. He steps up to the plate when it’s crunch time, and I need to lock myself away to write.”
